日本一早い紅葉の旅 in 北海道

気温が高い日が続いていたので紅葉が始まっているか心配していましたが、すでに初雪も降っており、リフトからは美しい紅葉を楽しむことができました。緑、黄色、赤のカラフルな紅葉に加え、リンドウや季節の草花も堪能しました。

今回は地元のガイド・ゆうこさんとバス運転手の木村さんが、私たちの北海道ツアーに同行してくださいました。
前日までは雨や濃霧、場合によってはリフトが止まることもあったそうですが、私たちが到着した日は快晴で、山の上でも日が差し込み、とても心地よい気温でした。

希望者の方は往復1時間かけて旭岳の姿見の池までハイキングを楽しみました。
硫黄が湧き出している箇所を見たり、姿見の池は波一つなく、綺麗に旭岳が水面に映っていました。

北海道といえばアイヌ文化。地元の小学生たちも必ず訪れる札幌のアイヌピリカコタンに立ち寄り、鮭の皮で作られたブーツなどに触れながら、アイヌ文化を学びました。

宿泊は2日ずつ異なる温泉郷のホテルに滞在しました。どちらも自然に恵まれ、参加者の皆さまからも好評でした。
夕食と朝食はホテルでいただき、フレンチコースや和食コース、ビュッフェスタイルなど、豊富な海の幸や北海道の味覚（メロンなど）を存分に楽しみました。

私たちのツアーで参加者の皆さまがいつも楽しみにしているのは、ご当地ソフトクリームです。
今回は美瑛で青い池ソフトクリーム、富良野でラベンダーとメロンのソフトクリームを堪能されておりました。

北海道の千歳、札幌、富良野、美瑛、旭川を存分に巡ることができたツアーとなりました。

Japan’s Earliest Autumn Foliage Tour in Hokkaido

We were a little worried whether the autumn colors had started, given the unusually warm weather, but early snow had already fallen, and the views from the lifts did not disappoint! The mountains were a stunning mix of green, yellow, and red, and we also enjoyed seasonal flowers like gentians scattered throughout the landscape.

Our journey was made even more special thanks to our local guide Yuko and bus driver Kimura, who accompanied us throughout the tour. Just the day before, heavy rain and thick fog had caused some lift closures—but on our day of arrival, the sun was shining, the air was crisp and comfortable, and the mountains were picture-perfect.

Some of our adventurous participants took a one-hour round-trip hike to Sugatami Pond on Mount Asahidake. Along the way, we spotted bubbling sulfur vents and were rewarded with a breathtaking view of the pond reflecting Mount Asahidake perfectly, calm and still like a mirror.

No Hokkaido trip is complete without experiencing Ainu culture. We visited Ainu Pirika Kotan in Sapporo, a place that local elementary school students always explore. Participants got hands-on with Ainu traditions, touching items made from salmon skin, like boots, and learning about this rich cultural heritage.

We stayed at two different hot spring resorts during the tour, each surrounded by beautiful nature. The accommodations were highly praised by our participants. Meals at the hotels were a treat—French and Japanese courses, buffet-style spreads, fresh Hokkaido seafood, and seasonal delights like melon were all highlights.

And of course, no tour would be complete without indulging in local soft-serve ice cream! We savored the Blue Pond flavor in Biei, and lavender and melon flavors in Furano, making for some truly delicious memories.

From Chitose and Sapporo to Furano, Biei, and Asahikawa, this tour offered a full Hokkaido experience filled with nature, culture, and culinary delights.
